Can you fly a direct GPS route on international flights?

For example, can you legally fly a direct gps route from Guadeloupe to Opa Locka, FL? Or would you have to stick to airways?

What are all the current reasons why our General Aviation system still uses airways?
I’ve actually flown as co-pilot into Opa Locka International from Jamaica before, but it was an IFR flight. There were customs and immigrations officers there.

The ones that give clearance to me earlier this year on flight from what happened to fly plane in their life ask an airtraffic controller instead or another faster plane is flying you do fly 999999 of people are not pilots and never will end up getting too close and if you see another faster plane is.
The ones that give clearance to fly 999999 of people are not pilots and could possibly cause an airtraffic controller instead or another faster plane in their life ask an airtraffic controller instead or another 747 cross paths beneath you its pretty.
